Founded by Kerry Gibson, Rethread Denim uses discarded denim as a creative and educational tool, helping young people explore big topics like sustainability, fast fashion, and social change in ways that are relatable and real.
At the heart of the project is a simple belief: everyone deserves to feel included, heard, and empowered. Through workshops, exhibitions, storytelling, and textile art, Kerry breaks down complex ideas and global issues into accessible, hands-on experiences.
Her work is inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), using them as a positive, global framework to open up conversations around equality, climate action, and responsible living.
Rooted in both personal and professional experience, Rethread Denim combines purpose, empathy and creativity to build something meaningful - whether it’s a workshop, a piece of art, or a new way of learning.
Rethread Denim is about stitching new futures, one thread at a time.
